Why Play Pot Limit Omaha?

Pot Limit Omaha is an extremely profitable game once you know the basics because so many people play it poorly. With a good strategy it is easy to make money.

Differences between Omaha and Hold’em
The only difference between Omaha and hold’em is that in Omaha each player is dealt four cards and you must use two of these with three from the board. This may not seem like a big difference but it means that each player has more cards to choose from to make the best five card poker hand. Therefore it takes a very strong hand (usually the nut i.e. best possible hand) to win the pot. For example, if there is a straight possible on the board then someone will almost definitely have the nut straight. If the board is paired then someone will almost definitely have a full house; often two or three people will have a full house. Omaha is usually played with a pot limit betting structure. In a no limit game at any one time a player can bet everything he has on the one hand. In a pot limit game the maximum a player can bet is the current value of the pot, i.e. if there is $10 in the pot a player can bet anything up to $10. So on to strategy…
